Audio-visual translation

Audio-visual translation refers to a translation process done in several steps:

Audio translation : This type of translation involves two steps. The first one implies the transcription of the content of an audio text into written form. The second step is the process through which the transcribed text is translated into the target languages according to the customer's request.

Visual translation : We speak of visual translation when it comes to adding these texts to a video. We do this by integrating subtitles or a voice-over to a video while ensuring that the added subtitles or voice-over are properly timed. This is a rather delicate exercise that requires respecting original timecodes for good synchronization.

Subtitling : the translation of subtitles is performed within the subtitle file by replacing the original transcribed texts. The translated file is then delivered in the format of your choice: SRT, VTT, SUB, TXT, ASS, etc.

This process can be illustrated by the following steps:

1- Transcript of the original video
2- Translation of the subtitle file
3-Delivering of the new text in the format of your choice

Voice Over or Dubbing?
Recording a voice over involves adding a foreign voice to the content of an existing video. While dubbing implies replacing the first voice (original voice) with a foreign voice. This process involves lip synchronization which is the adaptation of the vocabulary and the rate of expansion of the target language to the movements of the lips of the speakers in order to avoid any discrepancy between the spoken words and the movement of the lips.

This process can be illustrated by the following steps:

1- Time-lined transcription of the original text
         2- Voice over recording
3- Synchronization of the original voice or timecode
         4- Mixing

5- Delivery of the final audio or video file in the format of your choice : (AVI, TS, WMV, MPEG, etc).

All these steps are carefully followed during the processing of your projects because our priority is to provide you with excellent results. Our translators will do what it takes to deliver our promise any time you contact us.
